Wanted: Store Owners
Introducing: Atlanta Consignment Stores, an exciting collaboration happening in the Atlanta shopping scene right now! The brainchild of local shop owner, Melissa Baxter of Back By Popular Demand, AtlantaConsignmentStores.com had been in the works for over a year and was successfully launched a little over 4 years ago. By reaching out to consignment shop owners all over the Atlanta area, Melissa is striving to build a resale community that would join forces to promote and market the consignment industry to this city. “After much research I have found that only 10% of the population knows what consignment is and sadly many consumers cluster consignment, thrift and pawn shops in the same category. My vision for ACS is to educate consumers about the benefits of consignment buying and selling while making the consignment scene in Atlanta more visible and user-friendly.”
The member directory of ACS is an easy way for both the novice consignment shopper to find a store nearby or for the experienced resale diva to plan an entire day of consignment shopping in Atlanta. “Everyone will benefit from this site, from the shopper to the consigner to the store owner; it’s a win-win for everyone” says Bonnie Kallenberg of Finders Keepers, a 25 year veteran in the industry and board member of the
National Association of Resale and Thrift Shops (NARTS).
Who is represented in ACS?
Stores that sell merchandise on consignment in a brick and mortar location. The focus initially is on stores selling clothing, bridal and accessories for men, women and children and on stores selling furniture, furnishings and home decor.
What is ACS?
ACS is a collaborative effort of the consignment shop owners in the greater Atlanta area with a common vision to promote the consignment industry along with their individual stores. The organization will spend marketing dollars to promote the website which in turn directs consumers to each individual member store.
Why do we need ACS?
ACS was created because Atlanta has one of the biggest and best collections of consignment shops in the country! Atlanta is the destination of resale bus tours from the National Assocoation of Resale and Thrift Shops to Consignment Chic in Alabama. This city has a lot to offer the resale shopper and now it’s time to let everyone know about it.
